The EDE Agricultural Company was founded in early 2020 by Carlo Spreafico, an enthusiast of both botany and organic food products. For many years, Mr. Spreafico cradled the dream of owning an olive grove from which he could produce his extra virgin olive oil, made from nature and according to tradition.

Mr. Spreafico’s adventure in Sicily began in 2016 when, almost by chance, he came across the property of Villa Monacelli in Chiaramonte Gulfi, and immediately fell in love. The warm light at sunset enveloped and illuminated the silvery foliage of the olive trees, swaying in the wind. It was guiding him… This was the perfect place! He immediately bought the property, which at that time had approximately 300 olive trees, as well as a farmhouse and a small vineyard. After some time, he decided to expand its borders and acquired some neighboring olive groves, which sat abandoned for decades. Today, there are more than 1,000 olive trees on more than 7 hectares of land.

There was still a lot of work to be done. In order to expand cultivation, it was necessary to clear the land infested with spontaneous vegetation, clean up the neglected olive trees and proceed with new plantings. On the farm, we worked with relentless dedication to restore these lands to their original appearance and to make them productive again. And the fruits of this labor arrived soon after ...

Thus was born the extra virgin olive A BEDDU CORI, which in Sicilian means "from the heart”, a name which recalls the loving care with which the product is made.
